Brielle stood up, realizing she was smiling, too. “Come here. I want you to meet someone.”

Two steps later he stood at her side. He still smelled like a fresh ocean breeze. “Stone, this is an old family friend, Red Malone. Red, this is Stone Bronson. His dad is Tank Bronson’s brother. I think.”

Stone nodded as he and Red shook hands.

Red said, “I know your uncle. We’re becoming pretty good fishing buddies. Don’t know your dad, though.”

“We moved to Austin when I was in junior high.”

“That’s about the time I came here, if you and Brielle are about the same age.”

Stone nodded again. “I’ve been away from this area for a while. Good to meet you.”

Brielle touched Stone’s arm and tingles shot through her. “This is my sister Charli.”

“Hi.” Charli held out her hand and they shook too.

“Good to meet you too, Charli.” He turned to Brielle. “Told you I’d find you.”

She smiled. “So you did. Looks like I couldn’t hide.”

“I’ll admit I didn’t expect to find you here, though.”

“See how tricky I am?” And alive! Every inch of her felt alive and she wanted to savor each sensation that came along. This had never happened to her before.

Stone looked directly into her eyes. “I like that.”

In a single moment, the tingles flooded back and brought the giddies with them. Along with her already heightened senses, she thought she might explode. Or cry with joy. She fell in love with the entire, beautiful, fantastic world. “I’ll remember.”

Red cleared his throat.

“Oh!” Brielle’s cheeks heated up and she turned to Red. “Sorry.”

Red patted her shoulder. “Nothing to be sorry about, honey. Nothing at all. I do need to get back to the kitchen, before hungry customers start to complain.” He said goodbye to everyone and left.

Brielle turned her attention back to Stone. “Would you like to sit with us? We’re about half done.”

“Love to, but I’m with my rowdy cousins over there.”

Brielle looked, and sure enough, the whole Bronson crew was seated around Red’s biggest table. They all waved, and she and Charli waved back.

“Go. Enjoy.”

“I’ll call you.” He turned to Charli. “Glad to meet you, if I forgot to say that earlier.”

Brielle sat back down and watched Stone join his family. His jeans hugged his bottom and the sight made her mouth water as she turned to her food and forked a shrimp.

“He’s the man who was on your patio, isn’t he.” Charli’s words weren’t a question.

“That’s him. But I still don’t know if he’s the man who kissed me.”

“There’s a total connection between the two of you.”

Charli was never wrong when it came to people. “I feel drawn to him. I’ve never experienced anything like it before.”

Charli smiled. “He feels the same toward you. He knew without a doubt you were here.”

“You could feel that?”

Charli nodded. “In a way. Not in the way I feel you, but not in the way I feel others either. It’s more like how I feel Doug, but not quite as intense.”

“Wow,” Brielle breathed the word more than said it aloud.
